— Mission Statement

Let me cater 2 U

  • My Childbirth class is based on the Lamaze International Six Healthy Birth Practices. I aim to make it fun and personalized, with lots of hands on practice so you feel prepared for anything.

  • I offer assistance ranging from nutrition guidance, appointment accompaniment, in-home birth education to helping you write your birth preferences and set up your postpartum and newborn spaces.

  • Need an extra pair of hands for hip squeezes?

  • Let me support you in those first few weeks after birth. I help with newborn care, lactation, sibling support, holding space for the birthing person and light chores.

  • Whether through loss or choice, I’m here to offer steady, compassionate support as you move through this time.

  • Coming in 2026, Bloomkind will be offering in-home lactation support.

Meet your Doula

Hi, I’m Melodie. Mom of two, trained childbirth educator, and working toward my lactation counselor certification. I’m endlessly fascinated by pregnancy, birth, and the incredible ways our bodies bring new life into the world. Without getting too mystical about it, I deeply believe in the power of community, where people support each other through presence, patience, and understanding.

Both of my children were born at home, and the compassionate care I received during those experiences inspired me to do this work. I know firsthand how much it means to feel safe, seen, and genuinely supported through every stage of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I’m here to help you create the birth experience that feels right for you (with or without medication) offering steady guidance, evidence-based information, and a calm, caring presence (with plenty of laughter along the way). I’m also passionate about movement and nourishment throughout pregnancy; from long walks to the fridge to smart snacks that keep you feeling your best.

Most of all, I believe every birthing person deserves to be cared for with empathy, love, and respect as they bring new life into the world. You don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to walk with you every step of the way.
